How We do It & Why - "Irsho"
C2C recognizes that the first and last responders in any crisis whether acute or protracted – are the people themselves. With the right support, communities have the capacity to do more, and to do it better. Work mostly with Mutual aid groups, where the group has had a culture of helping one another without waiting for any external aid.
The organization applies a strength-based approach and appreciative inquiry methods to counter learned helplessness and dependency. At its core, this approach emphasizes:
- Changing the way we engage – affected people as decision-makers, not passive recipients.
- Localization with authenticity – transferring power to communities rather than only shifting implementation.
- Collective crisis response – enabling community groups to act rapidly, affordably, and with dignity.
- Triple Nexus thinking – linking humanitarian aid, development, and peacebuilding to accelerate transformative change.
C2C’s “Irsho” Model – is an approach represents a fundamental shift in how aid is delivered –moving from externally driven relief toward locally owned, community-led systems that blend humanitarian, development, and peacebuilding goals. It is not simply a method, but a movement -a way of enabling people to be the authors of their own recovery and long-term resilience.
